SURFING THE YOUTUBE ALGORITHM
I'm letting the YouTube algorithm 'AutoPlay' choose what I listen to while I work tonight. I never do that so this is an experiment. First roll:
Watch "Meaning and the Necessity of Theology" on YouTube
"The marketplace of ideas did not emerge in the first enlightenment. The second enlightenment is upon us. This second enlightenment is going to bring about a real marketplace of ideas, where people get to do their own research."
Watch "Don't Ever Back Down! With David Avocado Wolfe! Black Sheep Summit and More!" on YouTube
"The Black Sheet Summit is about connecting with your tribe."
Watch "ZEITGEIST: THE MOVIE - FULL DOCUMENTARY | Social Power Structure Misinformation" on YouTube
"In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay."
Watch "Zeitgeist: The Movie - Trailer" on YouTube
Movie first, then the trailer ...and now the algorithm will not recommend any more after this one. I tried three times. Can't unstick it. Reroll!
Watch "South Park - Toilet Paper" on YouTube
This was the first suggested video on my home page.
Carmen has a grocery cart full of toilet paper, and one pack of chewing gum. At :17 the cashier says, "Hey, hey, now you kids be careful with this chewing gum. Don't go sticking it under tables." This is after casually ringing in Carmen's grocery cart full of toilet paper to no comment. But the gum!--Reminds me of the Peter Sellers movie, The Mouse That Roared (1959) that I watched last night. It is a 60 year old movie about fear mongering. At 23:23 Peter Sellers steps on chewing gum and a fellow soldier cries out, "Germ warfare!" To which Sellers responds, "Since when have there been sticky germs?" Chewing gum is referenced a second time in this movie at 1:18:18 where Peter Sellers says about the scientist, "We want him to develop a chewing gum with a Pino Grande Fenwick flavor which naturally we expect to export to the United States." There is a little known sequel to this movie, "The Mouse On The Moon."
This just in: "Chewing Gum" is code word for "Virus"
68M views Korean Pop chewing gum
The sexy risks of chewing gum
1 pack a day for 30 days chewing gum
Addictive all natural chewing gum
Don't swallow chewing gum
"Stan, don't you know the laws of physics? Anything that is fun costs at least $8."
I"m listening as I clean but cartoons really ought to be watched. Reroll!
Watch "Owen Benjamin: "I have questions"" on YouTube
"I can't stand when people talk to flat earth people and try to humiliate them and be like, "You're so fukin dumn. Look at you. Look at you thinking the earth is flat. You're so stupid, I"m so smart." In reality there's a lot of really weird things about the shape of the earth."
Watch "The Jesus Debate: Lord or Legend?" on YouTube
A debate about whether extra-biblical sources are sufficient evidence to prove Jesus existed. 20 minutes in...
I'm about to reroll and click on another video cuz I don't want to listen to two hours of this but maybe I'll speed up to the very end of it and see what the algorithm chooses next.
Watch "Does God Exist? William Lane Craig vs. Christopher Hitchens - Full Debate [HD]" on YouTube
How long is this debate going to be? Ho Lee fuk this is a worn out debate topic. YouTube wants me navel gazing. Going to reroll. I'm down a path I don't want to be on. Christians and atheists nope nope nope no thank you algorithms. Reroll!
Watch "Suffer" on YouTube
"We don't suffer in western culture. If we suffer it is something like, "Oh, they cancelled my favorite TV show. I'm suffering." This is just a spoiled individual. This is not suffering. What we have to look at is to understand that suffering is the true way of the world."
Watch "Supreme Court Justices Signal They May Strike Down New York Restrictions On Concealed Carry Of Guns" on YouTube
A video on the Supreme Court Case allowing felons to own handguns holy hell I think Google wants me to go postal hahaha this came after a Youtube commercial I was listening to, didn't realize it wasn't a video, on some MMO game about space and guns and action and fantasy! Scrolling to end for next suggested video....
Watch "A Discussion with Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor" on YouTube
Crud I was hoping this game would be more fun but I keep ending up in dead end two hour videos that the algorithm wants me to spend all my time watching re-roll re-roll re-roll
Watch "The Scientist That "Discovered Antigravity" Then Disappeared Completely - An Unsolved Mystery" on YouTube
"Rotating ions spinning in a field perpendicular to their spin axis will create an anti gravity effect if a large number of ions can be aligned in a Bose-Einstein condensate."
Interesting listening to published scientists discussing anomalies in the established gravity theory.
"Now we're gonna take a look into this case but we have a few interesting tidbits as we break it down."
I had to turn this one off when Alex Stein #99 started describing in intimate detail the insides of gay bath houses. Reroll!
Watch "Jay-Z and Dean Baquet, in Conversation" on YouTube
Interviewer to Jay-Z: "The things I want to talk to you today about... I want to talk to you today a little about... race. Um... your music some too. I thought the song 'Talking To OJ' was particularly powerful. I took the message as, 'You can be rich. You can be poor. You're still black."
Watch "Oprah Winfrey on Career, Life, and Leadership" on YouTube
"Woohoo! Love it! Love love love! Tweet tweet! Woohoo! Love! Woo! So happy to be in the bubble!"

"I'm here to talk to you about some of the lessons at CIA over my 32 year career there."
32 you say? Illuminati Confirmed. Reroll!
Watch "IQ2 Debate: Don't Trust The Promise Of Artificial Intelligence" on YouTube
The debaters on the side against trusting AI clearly win this debate. I'm so confused now. The YouTube algorithm suggested I watch a video that tells me not to trust algorithms. ..welp... GG.
