TO WORK OR TO KROW
I am a janitor and I collect space ship parts. These are anything that is just the right size to get sucked up by a vacuum but still clog it in the process, like a paperclip or a rubber band. lose screws. gears, buttons, washers, nuts & bolts. toothpicks. ear rings. guitar picks, knobs and twistymabobs, leftover parts, bent nails. springs, pen caps, chewed off pen clips, beads, pop corn kernals, pennies nickels dimes quarters, flotsum and jetsum.
I bend over to pick them up and put them in my pocket because otherwise they will clog my vacuum.
I call them space ship parts because my vacuum chokes on them. They are pieces of entropy and I have thousands of them in a barrel in the corner of my living room where I empty my pockets each evening. Sometimes I make art out of my space ship parts. This one I call, “Houston, We Have Cake Baby.”
